But there are also blues with an ironic and humorous lyrics. &#8220;You can just type new words over the 12-bar harmonic scheme and improvise,&#8221; said the singer T-Bone Walker, &#8220;and you have a new blues.&#8221; Apart from content makes the default clock and the blues chord progression as the most popular common theme at meetings of players, even if the come from different genres. Sun Wynton Marsalis tells in his book &#8220;Jazz, my life,&#8221; as he played with Itzhak Perlman at spontaneous sessions, Stevie Wonder, Paco de Lucia blues. Even with a Turkish folk musician &#8220;us with a completely unknown instrument&#8221; it worked. &#8220;The blues,&#8221; says Marsalis, &#8220;probably came into the world so that together we can make music and understand each other.&#8221;</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>The air is heavy with smoke and smell of wine on the tables of the guests is hardly any room for sheer whiskey glasses, wine bottles and snack plates with pickles, olives and salt stuff. And three men enter into jeans and T-shirt on the small stage, everything.<br />
With about 40 spectators the large living room against a clock shop is well stocked at night. To pink tablecloths often sit together several generations. &#8220;A Rembetiko evening is perfect for the whole family, because all love the songs,&#8221; says the student Stella Kerasidou. As if to prove sings half the pub the next song &#8220;Malista Kirie&#8221; with.<br />
On stage, there is a clear division of roles: Guitarist Dimitris Sphiggos is responsible for the rhythmic foundation on which can let off steam bouzouki player Christos Mitrentzis. Some reviewers had minor complaints about one or two of the performances but overall critical opinion was glowing. Norman Gibson of The Ann Arbor News perhaps summed it up best writing simply that ?the first Ann Arbor Blues Festival in history was a success from almost any point of view and those who arranged it can be proud of the results. ?The audience was if anything even more enthusiastic than the experts. Many performers received heartfelt standing ovations and the moving quiet performance by the venerable Son House that closed the festival brought tears to the eyes of many.</p>

Lachute en Blues has rented the Lachute fairgrounds and will be performing on a large stage that belongs to the Knights of Columbus. ?We have incorporated extra stages so that the artists can come off the main stage and be right in the middle of the crowd? Lachute en Blues director and musician Brian Tyler said. In order to accommodate as many people as possible and to involve the community of Lachute additional performances will also taking place in some of Lachute?s many bars and restaurants.</p>

Some reviewers had minor complaints about one or two of the performances but overall critical opinion was glowing. Norman Gibson of The Ann Arbor News perhaps summed it up best writing simply that ?the first Ann Arbor Blues Festival in history was a success from almost any point of view and those who arranged it can be proud of the results. ?The audience was if anything even more enthusiastic than the experts. Austin&#8217;s Fastball was supporting Little White Lies and        songs from that album like &#8220;Always Never&#8221; went over well but the more        resonant tunes seemed to be of an older vintage like 1999&#8217;s song of        romantic imbalance &#8220;ut of My Head&#8221; or the (once) ubiquitous &#8220;The Way. &#8221;        Frontman Miles Zuniga and his Les Paul did a good job of leading the        band and the music was punchy and direct. Sugar Ray was next and &#8211; like Fastball &#8211; their alt-rock formula is        basically the same as it was in the late 90s with a punk-pop sound        augmented by the turntable stylings of Craig &#8220;DJ Homicide&#8221; Bullock. Their new album is Music for Cougars. Their sound is a bit more reggae inflected a fact they referenced with        their invocation of another earlier artist who used Caribbean rhythms        to mark his music &#8211; their 2003 cover of Joe Jackson&#8217;s &#8220;Is She Really        Going ut With Him?&#8221;                 If you&#8217;ve ever wondered what it sounds like when you grab pop music&#8217;s        brass ring and hang on for a little bit &#8211; long enough to forgo ramen        noodles but a tad shy of Bentleys and private jets Sunday night at the        House of Blues you got your answer.</p>

After the George Gritzbach Band opened the concert with a six-song set of electric blues King started with the old standby &#8220;I Need You So&#8217;&#8217; masterfully transforming the word &#8220;I&#8217;&#8217; into an elongated &#8220;aaarrrggghhhhhh. &#8217;&#8217; Naturally he closed with &#8220;The Thrill Is Gone&#8217;&#8217; but some of the other selections were not so obvious. With a heavy dose of self-deprecating humor he tore through &#8220;ne Kind Favor&#8217;&#8217; whose narrator asks the listener to keep his grave clean. There was a splendid moment in his guitar solo when he took one note shook it full of vibrato then held it and bent it slightly until it sounded right to him. It is this mix of supreme musicianship and audience engagement that keeps King magnetic and makes each concert an event.</p>

Minstrelsy was the precursor to vaudeville and ragtime &#8220;the final innovation of the minstrel show. &#8220;When a job as a bandleader in Clarksdale Miss. in the heart of blues country opened up Handy discovered the music of black blues players notably the &#8220;blue note&#8221; the minor-themed undercurrent in blues music that invariably strikes an emotional chord with its listeners. Handy worked the bones of the blues into his formal compositions and the music began to make its way into the white world. Though he did not really &#8220;make&#8221; the blues between 1904 and 1920 Handy&#8217;s &#8220;genius&#8221; &#8220;was his realizing the commercial potential of the Mississippi Delta blues music to reach beyond a regional and racial folk song and become part of mainstream American music&#8221; Robertson writes.
