But ask him about his favorite subject playing guitar and he will give you all the time in the world. Shane says his introduction to music began at home in a small town just south of San Jose California. “Early on my family just loved a bunch of music” he explains. “My dad really listened to a lot of blues and old early country Hank Williams. My grandfather loved a lot of really old ragtime and country and I listened to a lot of that when I was a kid. My grandmother was in love with Elvis. She always played Elvis Presley and he [my grandfather] would always play Johnny Cash.

Pepper and Snapple Tuesday at George’s after Crowne and Nelson Driver executive director of Bikes Blues & BBQ announced the AMP and the bike rally will team up to host this year’s big music acts at the AMP located at the Northwest Arkansas Mall parking lot. The 10th annual Bikes Blues & BBQ festival will begin Sept. 23 and will bring in music acts like Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet. The AMP is hosting Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet on Sept. 24 a Thursday in its covered outdoor facility at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.

Afro-Rican Ensemble jazzes up downtown

The Hoovers fans of jazz and blues music said they enjoyed the Afro-Rican Ensemble performance and look forward to Arnett Howard’s Friday night performance too. Tom and Diane Stuckey who sits on The Lancaster Festival Board stopped by the Madison Bar and Grill vendor area for some fish Wednesday. Tom Stuckey said he enjoys the “laid-back attitude” of jazz music and neither were put off by the wet conditions. “We just knew it’d be a good show” Diane Stuckey said.
