Walker said he first became interested in playing guitar as a child from listening to popular music of the time. “As a kid I was very much into The Rolling Stones” Walker said. “From there I found my way to blues music. Walker names legendary Delta bluesman Robert Johnson as an inspiration as well as ’70s contemporaries Jorma Kaukonen of Hot Tuna and David Bromberg. Though he’s a fan of both acoustic and electric blues Walker said his live music is 100 percent acoustic. But his words were a paraphrase of an old saying that evolved through black oral culture and has found a place in folk and blues music.
