Hard Rock Park rocks with fun music in Myrtle Beach
Atlanta Journal Constitution – May 25, 2008
“It took us about three years. The Eagles and The Moody Blues on the other hand went back to the studio to record new versions of old hits specifically for the Hard Rock Park rides. Members of The Eagles “wanted to score the music to the ride” Binkowski said. The musicians used computer animation of the roller coaster and video taken from the point of view of the riders to guide them in recording a customized version of “Life in the Fast Lane. ” The ride is about two minutes long but less stomach-churning than the loops and corkscrews of Zeppelin-The Ride. Music is everywhere at Hard Rock Park.

On Sunday and Wednesday evenings through June 18 Garbeau’s is presenting “Emerge: I Sing Because I’m Happy” a six-woman show created by Kitty Griffin that had its premiere at the Mondavi Center. There’s probably more to come. The two business partners – Castel has a husband Joseph and two daughters – have been friends for six years. “People say that we just click like Frick and Frack” said Ferreira 27 and way too young to know the reference to the comic Swiss skating team of the 1930s ’40s and ’50s.

Then Magee’s health became an issue. That is when Kevin Moore who at the time was the activities director for the Boca Ciega Center met Magee. “All he had was a dusty guitar being used for a clothes rack more than anything else” said Moore who recalls that some other residents told him that Magee had some connection to blues music. “I did a Google search and found all this stuff. It became my primary mission to get him back from just snapping his fingers and patting his feet. “He did eventually. At first Magee did not want to touch a guitar.
