" Despite having been married to Hollywood royalty (he was married to Kate Hudson daughter of Goldie Hawn for six years) Robinson remains a down-to-earth bluesman. He is looking forward to visiting the hippie heaven of Byron Bay which will be followed by a national tour. In his own words he and his band haven’t "played a note of music in Australia since 1992". Then the Black Crowes were at the peak of their career having just released their second album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion a No. 1 record in the US. Since that time they have carved out a tradition of gritty psychedelic bluesy rock that has attracted a fierce cult following. The band are releasing a new record Warpaint on March 4.

I'm advocating a moratorium on a word that means in its first definition moldy or smelly. In the '50s that earthy definition morphed into a style of blues music with a fashionable sexy swing. While funky is often used in a positive sense – as in casual free easy – I'd suggest that Leucadia shouldn't aspire to be funky (i. down to smelly earth) so much as authentic. A clean '55 Chevy for example is hardly funky.

So in Portland Citadel chose to sell off adult alternative station WCLZ (98. 9 FM) and WCYI and immediately placed both stations in a trust called Last Bastion Station Trust LLC. WCYI then began simulcasting the music of WCLZ. Saga Communications a national radio company that already has a stable of stations in Maine bought WCLZ in August and began running it in the fall. That left WCYI without any programming. And offering a radio station for sale with no programming is not exactly enticing to buyers.
