To counter the loss of three buyers Live Nation brought Perry LaVoisne from its Detroit operations to head the Denver office. Jason Miller lead booker for House of Blues Concerts in Denver for many years had left House of Blues before the company’s 2006 sale to Live Nation to work for Live Nation in Los Angeles. ne month ago it transferred him back to Denver to work with LaVoisne. The company also lured longtime Nobody in Particular Presents booker Peter re and it plans to add a fourth full-time promoter in the coming month. With the House of Blues sale Live Nation has taken control of Coors Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village. Englewood’s Gothic Theatre previously linked with NIPP is now a Live Nation-controlled venue alongside the Fillmore Auditorium and Paramount Theatre… AEG is putting money into aesthetics and sound systems in the Bluebird and gden theaters. Wednesday May 2 rests comfortably between the two weekends of JazzFest in new New rleans and many Fest-goers stay late or come early to experience Ponderosa Stomp. This year’s Stomp promises to bend ears with the inclusion of many legends of blues rR&bB soul garage rock New rleans music traditional country rockabilly and swamp pop. Big Stuff” soul songstress Jean Knight among dozens of others. Stanley “Buckwheat Zydeco” Dural will play the Hammond B3 organ behind many of the artists. But the Stomp itself is not the only musical event happening in New rleans between JazzFest weekends.
